What to edit before publishing

  • [ ] Insert actual Day 0 launch date ({LAUNCH_DATE})
  • [ ] Insert Day 90 snapshot block height ({DAY90_BLOCK}) — pre-commit publicly so it can't be gamed
  • [ ] Verify all mainnet URLs resolve (rpc / scan / swap / app / docs)

Sanect's privacy module and bridge contracts are **not yet externally audited**. We're in active discussion with auditors (Zellic / Veridise / Spearbit). Until audit lands, **use at your own risk** and only commit value you're willing to lose. We're shipping mainnet with the audit gate intentionally open because we believe the privacy thesis needs real users running real flows on a real chain — but we owe you the honest framing.

**Airdrop**
Testnet activity earns nothing. Real airdrop snapshots are on mainnet at Day 90 / 180 / 270 / 365. The Day 90 snapshot block is pre-committed at block `{DAY90_BLOCK}` so it cannot be gamed. Eligibility criteria and anti-sybil rules: see `docs/airdrop-mainnet-plan.md`.

**Validators**
Top-50 active set by stake, unlimited registrations with automatic rotation. Variant A geographic distribution — no single region holds 2/3 of stake. Sanect is a privacy-first EVM Layer 1. Chain ID 7628. Cosmos chain ID sanect_7628-1. Symbol SNCT, 18 decimals, 1,000,000,000 SNCT at genesis. Mainnet RPC at https://rpc.sanect.com, explorer at https://scan.sanect.com.

Our thesis is simple, and unchanged since the first whitepaper draft: privacy on Ethereum-style chains has been gated behind separate wallets, separate seed phrases, separate chains, and per-circuit trusted-setup ceremonies. None of that is necessary anymore. We can ship a fast EVM L1 where private transfers are a first-class feature you reach from your existing wallet, with no extra software to install and no new key material to back up.

Privacy you can use without changing your wallet is the design constraint that ruled every architectural choice below.

What's live at launch

  • EVM Layer 1. Cosmos SDK v0.53.4 + CometBFT v0.38.17 + cosmos/evm v0.4.1 (forked → sanectd). Any EVM wallet — MetaMask, Rabby, Frame, OKX, Coinbase Wallet, Trust — connects with a standard wallet_addEthereumChain call.
  • ~400ms target block time. A Variant A geographic validator topology: target 50 active validators across Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Frankfurt, and US East. Asia ≤ 52%, EU+US ≥ 32%. No single jurisdiction can force or halt finalization.
  • Top-50 active by stake, unlimited registrations. Validators below the active threshold rotate in automatically as stake redistributes.
  • Shielded transfers. A custom Noir 2-in/2-out circuit running on Barretenberg's universal Plonk SRS — Aztec's already-ceremoniously-generated and audited setup. No per-circuit ceremony. Multi-asset by design (notes carry an asset_id; the same circuit handles native SNCT and any ERC-20). Browser proving via Noir's wasm prover takes ~2–3 seconds on a laptop.
  • DEX. A Uniswap V2 fork at https://swap.sanect.com — Swap / Pool / Farm / Bridge tabs.
  • Hyperlane bridge ↔ Ethereum. Round-trips both ways. Bring SNCT in from Ethereum mainnet on the Bridge tab; bridge back when you want to leave.
  • .snct name service. Register human-readable names at https://domain.sanect.com — Lookup, Register, Auction, Marketplace, Manage.
  • Block explorer. Blockscout at https://scan.sanect.com.
  • Staking and faucet dApp. https://app.sanect.com — delegate, undelegate, claim rewards, register a validator, unjail, and access the shielded pool panel.

Why a custom Noir circuit

We considered three privacy paths and rejected two:

  1. Fork Railgun. Railgun publishes circuit source but not prebuilt proving keys. Their 100+ Groth16 circuit variants each require a multi-party trusted-setup ceremony — multi-month coordination with ~30 participants — and their mainnet ceremony output only validates against Ethereum mainnet. Self-running it for a fresh chain isn't a v1 path.
  2. Write our own Halo2 circuit from scratch. Multi-engineer-year of cryptographic and circuit-engineering work before we could ship a credible v1.
  3. Custom Noir 2-in/2-out circuit on Aztec's universal SRS. No per-circuit ceremony. MIT licensed, Aztec-maintained, actively developed. Browser proving via wasm. Multi-asset via an asset_id field. The wallet batches multiple steps for transfers larger than 2-in/2-out; gas costs are non-private, so the batching doesn't leak counterparty info.

The honest disclaimer

Sanect's privacy module and bridge contracts are not yet externally audited. We are in active discussion with Zellic, Veridise, and Spearbit. Until audit lands, use Sanect mainnet at your own risk and only commit value you're willing to lose.

We're shipping mainnet with the audit gate intentionally open because we believe the privacy thesis needs real users running real flows on a real chain — but we owe you the framing up front. We will publish the auditor selection and engagement timeline on this blog as soon as the contract is signed.

The chain itself (Cosmos SDK + CometBFT + cosmos/evm) is built from extensively battle-tested components used by Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, dYdX, and Sei. The novel surface is the privacy module and the Hyperlane bridge adapter — that's what an audit needs to cover and what your risk should be calibrated against.

Airdrops, snapshots, and incentives

Testnet activity does not qualify for any token allocation. We were explicit about this throughout the testnet — no farmable rewards.

Real airdrop snapshots are on mainnet, in four phases:

  • Day 90 at block {DAY90_BLOCK} (pre-committed publicly; cannot be moved)
  • Day 180
  • Day 270
  • Day 365

Eligibility criteria and anti-sybil rules are documented in docs/airdrop-mainnet-plan.md. The exact allocation percentage, vesting schedule, and treasury splits are operator-side and will be announced through normal channels in advance of each snapshot.

What's queued next

  • External audit engagement. First public update once a firm is signed.
  • Off-chain note indexer with fuzzy message detection. Reduces shielded-wallet sync from "trial-decrypt every memo from block 0" to "fetch hints for your viewing key only" — a quality-of-life win for heavy users.
  • Anonymity Maintenance Bot. Treasury-funded decoy traffic that scales down automatically as real adoption catches up. Bridges the weak-day-one anonymity set.
  • Additional bridge corridors beyond Ethereum.
